Yes, I am alive
Jul. 3rd, 2004 08:05 amThough you wouldn't necessarily know it. Been working a lot. I pretty much like the job, which is as the receptionist at an audiology clinic. The people are all really nice, it's not boring by any stretch (if anything, I think it's a slow day when I only have one person on the phone and one at the desk at any given time), and I get to meet cute small children and cute elderly folks. The exciting news I got yesterday is that it's quite possible that I'll be back there for at least some of the two weeks between Oxford and Pennsic! The deal is, they had one other temp in for the first part of the summer, but she's working at the US Women's Open (which is being played at the golf course at Mt. Holyoke College as we speak) and so here I am. I think the plan is for her to come back after the Open is over, but she's going to be away some more later in the summer. So the hope is that between the two of us we can cover the rest of the summer for them. Whoo!
Since I have to be at work at 8:00, my body has gotten used to waking up at 6:30. Which is the only reason that it's Saturday and I'm up at 8am. But we're going down to Connecticut to chill with MR and Eilis today, so it's not the end of the world that I'm up. Ooh, and it sounds like Matthew's up and moving. Shocking!
EKAR was a blast. Much fun fencing, many fun classes.
marajade648,
siriel and
nomadmwe will appreciate that I gave myself a nice bruise across my forearm trying Connor's sword-flippy trick (the one where you toss is up in the air and then catch it) with a schlaeger. I switched back to epee after that.
Other plans for this weekend include lying around tomorrow and doing some computer support work for a faculty member on Monday (oooh, under-the-table-cash).
And I think that's all I have to say for now.
