Every nasty thing I have EVER said about working with knits is hereby taken back.  I would rather work with a knit than a silk charmeuse ANY DAY.  It took me TWO HOURS to cut, pin, and flat-fell ONE SIXTY-INCH SEAM!!!  I did this twice today.  And my brain is now mush.  Thank HEAVENS I have cable in the sewing room now: at least I was able to half-watch Iron Chef America (Battle Thanksgiving!) while I was doing the second seam this evening (this afternoon my entertainment was football).

Off to make lunches for tomorrow...

Slippery is exactly the problem I'm having, and I need to get a new needle because mine were having problems punching through 3 or 4 layers of 19mm silk, no matter how much tension I kept it under.

This wasn't that one, actually. This was the first battle of the new iron chef - Sanders, I think his name is. Excessively fond of the grappa, that one. ;^)

Oh, Michael Symon. Did he get drunk or something?

No, he just knocked over a glass of grappa on one of his dishes (he was serving it with his appetizer). And during the selection reality show he was swilling it in the kitchen at one point.
