Hooray for infinite loop!

Infinite Loop being, of course, ArsTechnica's Mac-related blog.

See, I often have to scan articles for my classes - and then I print them to PDF and put them online.  Except that I'm not using OCR software to do it, so I end up with enormous (150 dpi - anything lower and it's illegible) .jpg files that I drop into a PowerPoint presentation and save to PDF from there.  One recent article came out at 8.5 MB for an 8-page .ppt file.  (For reference, the .ppt itself was 4ish MB.)

And then, this weekend, this article was linked on Infinite Loop.  That 8.5 MB file?  It's now 1.4 MB and completely readable.  I printed it to make sure.  HOORAY!
