We are home...
After thinking we were going to have a very full house last night, we ended up with a very empty one (i.e., just us). It was good, though, we ate large quantities of salad and crusty bread, caught up on Project Runway (Apollo Ohno = still hot), watched some Olympics, and I went to bed very very early. I'm not going to make any effort to catch up... tell me if there was something major in the internets that I need to know about, k?
Had a good Pennsic... M took second in the East Tourney (while I assisted
liamstliam as MOL) to Connor Livingston - Connor was, in fact, both of his losses. Rapier Champs took FOREVER but most of the fights we saw were quite good. M MOL's the Aethelmearc ladies' tourney for the third year in a row and I assisted him. I had lent my gear to
chrisilin so I didn't fence at all - it was WEIRD, I gotta say. Last time I didn't pick up a blade at Pennsic was 4 years ago when I was pregnant with TRex.
A&S display was STUNNING and I got lots of good feedback on my stuff. It was interesting to me that the pieces that got the most attention were my toss-off embroideries rather than the garments. Maybe because they were up high, or easier for people to appreciate, or not brown, or complete. In any case, it was interesting.
tashadandelion made faces at me as she read my docs for the mauve gown, but she was just being mean. I think. I finally got to Mistress Bricia's opus anglicanum class and realized that I really just need to get up the stones to DO it. So maybe I'll start doing some OA award medallions or something.
TRex and Mom get here late this afternoon. I miss my girl!
