Early Sunday Morning

No one I know is pathetic enough to be online this early on a Sunday morning, apparently.

Deaths come in threes:
Terry Schaivo
John Paul II
(prediction) Prince Rainier of Monaco

I think I've figured out why the Pope's decline captured my attention so. I'd always found him an interesting, even anachronistic figure (that is to say, I find the Pontificate anachronistic). But I was thinking about it last night, and I've concluded that on some level, he reminded me of my grandfather. Grandpa was about 10 years older than the Pope, but they were both stooped in the same way (Grandpa from osteoporosis, not from Parkinson's disease), moving so carefully and appearing so frail in their last years. In the end, they even died of the same thing - well, ultimately they both died of old age - but I was thinking of sepsis.

S'just interesting.

Johnny Cochran died. Read somewhere that Jerry Falwell is in the process of dying. So apparently death decided to move to fours.

Frank Perdue also kicked it after Cochran and before the Pope.

many folks have pointed out other deaths, both recent & impending...

  • johnnie cochran
  • frank perdue
  • terry schiavo
  • john paul ii
  • jerry falwell
  • prince rainier

well, there's six there... wonder what the statute of limitations on deaths in 3's is?

(don't mind the lack of caps... t-rex just requires the use of one of my hands to stay in my lap...)

I was up, and on-line, just not on AIM. I am avoiding family issues at the moment, which means I do not log into AIM. :)

this crazy world

I think I was struck a bit about the Pope death because I was young enough to not know there was such things as Pope's and old enough to watch them pick him on the TV and have my mom explain what was going on and for me to "get it". Also when I was 16 I was in Rome and was at a mass blessing by the Pope - I also got to hear him speek. I didn't agree with many things he said but he left enough of an impression on me to think somewhat highly of him. As far as death go....I have had a friend with terminal cancer who was suppose to die last week. Crazy bit is everyone else keeps leaving this world and Joe (who is on his last leg) is still around - guess recently you have to be famous or something.
