I'm such a pathetic dork that I really, really can't wait to see A Prairie Home Companion. I'm all aquiver about it. Robert Altman! Kevin Kline! Screenplay by Garrison Keillor! (If he wasn't involved, i wouldn't even be thinking about wanting to see it.) Woody Harrelson! (Jury's still out on the Lindsey Lohan bit...)

*squee*

I was attempting to explain why I want to see it so badly to M, but it just can't be explained. To me, Saturday night means PHC. It always has. The big excitement when they'd do free previews of the Disney Channel (before it was part of basic cable) was that we could watch PHC. I'm so sad that our NPR station here doesn't have it - Marian McPartland (one of my childhood idols) and Fiona Ritchie are great, but it's just not quite the same.

I'm gonna go see it. I think that Meryl Streep, John C Reilly, and My Favortie GrumpyPants Tommy Lee Jones balance out the Lohan. ANd hey, they filmed in the Fitzgerald, and I *adore* the Fitzgerald.

I completly agree on all points. I was introduced to Praire Home Companion by the Disney channel. And our NPR station plays it *TWICE* on Saturday, last week's episode in the afternoon and the current week in the evening. It's glorious. :D :D

We used to watch it with my dad every week. My mom would go in her room and read a book. She couldn't stand that show. Nutcase. :)
