Bwahahahahaha!

Being offline for the morning/day doesn't mean I can't spam you... I just means I write things to post later!  Bwahahahahaha!

I find it amusing that many of my dissertating friends have wordcounts that are increasing, whereas my work on my prospectus so far today has
yielded negative growth.

Also: In my favorite library carrel, right under the bookshelf (ie, not quite visible if I sit up straight and look straight ahead), someone has written "Titties & Beer!"  It's times like this I wish I had a cameraphone.

When it comes to dissertations and other long form writing, a day of negative growth every once in a while is probably one of the best ways to achieve an excellent end product. I know it always works that way with my papers and presentations. :-)

This is especially true for me when I'm working on a first draft, because I don't make any effort to write well on the first pass - I just concentrate on getting the words and ideas out of my head and onto "paper". So less length probably means better content.
