Grey's Anatomy just broke me.

I am broken.  I missed it last night - I got home from meeting with HRH about the gown that I'm making for her around 9:30 so I didn't bother turning it on, I just watched the end of CSI with M.

People (by which I really mean M) mock me for watching this show.  It's a silly medical soap opera, it is.  There's a lot of sex, there's a lot of relationship drama, and there's no way these people possibly have time to be awesome doctors and have that much drama.

But then they go and ask this question:

If there was a patient who desperately needed organs, and a serial killer 5 days from execution who wanted to die in the hospital rather than strapped to a table, and they were a match... what would you do?

And then they give you a scene at the end that you simply cannot watch.  Not even between-the-fingers watch.  Just cover the face and try not to hear the audio because you are so broken by what's happening.

Plotline's not done yet. Don't know how it turns out.

I didn't get to watch it, but caught the end. Wowsers. Going to watch it online tonight or tomorrow to catch up.

Do, it's amazing. There were a lot of other interesting plot-related things that happened in this ep, too. I just was so wrecked by the ending that everything else was overshadowed by it.

Weird -- I just read a book (Change of Heart, Jodi Picoult) with a similar plot: guy kills other guy, is sentenced to death; other guy's kid needs a heart; guy is a match for kid, wants to donate. The book is maybe not quite as fluffy as what I've seen of G'sA, but definitely a Lady Novel. It all feels like...sort of a backwards "ripped from the headlines!" or something?
