Dec. 21st, 2005 10:58 amWe will not be quitting our day jobs to open a vacuum repair shop. It died again, this time with the lovely smell of burning rubber. Yay. BestBuy had a shiny new Eureka on sale for probably less than it would have cost to fix the old machine, so we got that one. It's SO MUCH STRONGER than the dead Bissell ever was! The recently-Bisselled family room produced HALF A CANISTER of new schmutz. Scary. I also think that bagless is a better option for us because we're bad about remembering to change bags and now the need to be emptied will be staring us in the face.
Also, it's self-propelled, which startled me at first. Sadly, it will not propel when in the fully upright and locked position, which means no vacuum cleaner races like
silvermaple and I had down the halls of Goodhue our frosh year.
