the as-of-yet unnamed MacBook Pro. I'm posting this post from her RIGHT NOW!!!!! *squee*

She hasn't told me her name yet. I am hereby accepting suggestions. Something sleek and sexy, of course.

One of the lovely features of the new computer is its built-in iSight camera.

Y'know, the one that suddenly has STOPPED WORKING. I've rebooted, nothing. Tried three different apps, nothing.

*headdesk*

Guess I'll be making a trip to the Apple Store this weekend, unless it magically heals itself. Guess I WON'T be spending the evening importing all my docs and everything to this machine, just in case they decide that what they really need to do is send it back.

Commies.

Well, whatever hinkiness had infected my iSight seems to have healed itself. Clearly the computer just needed a nap. So I have before me an exciting evening of data transferring. If I'm really, really clever I'll manage to get everything set up such that I can actually use the new machine on campus tomorrow. How cool would that be?

Also, Terri Gross talking to the Beastie Boys is just too funny.

Well, after a conversation with Josh the friendly Apple tech support boy, I have reset my machine (remove all power sources; hold down power button for 5 seconds, reboot) and the iSight appears to be working. I have a case number in case it happens again. But it seems to be OK, so I'll proceed with the fun & excitement of installing more stuff.

Does anybody know where I put my Word install CDs?
