When you see this, post another Buffy quote in your LJ. Let's see how long this can go on.

"Don't taunt the fear demon."
"Why not? [something I don't quite remember]"
"No, it's just TACKY."

First off, I can't be the only one who finds it funny that the sports med. doctor at my clinic is named Michael Jordan.  Second off, it's not weird that I biked to an appointment about a leg injury, is it?  (Third off - how lame is it that my doctor's office doesn't have a bike rack?!)

Anyway, the diagnosis: patellar chondromalacia with a hip flexor strain secondary to the knee problem (he thinks that I have been compensating for the knee pain and in the process placed undue stress on the hip, which was my hunch).  THANKFULLY there is no ligament damage and NSAIDs, PT, and avoiding running for a bit should fix me right up.  Elliptical, spinning/biking, and swimming are all recommended/acceptable activities.

because her birthday dress is DONE!
pictures are back here )
I can't say yet how it fits her 'cause I'm not giving it to her until her actual birthday but my eyeballing of it says it should be good, with room to grow so she can wear it next summer.

(Of course, the kid also went off to school today wearing clothing that ranged, I kid you not, from size 24 month to size 5-6, so who the hell knows.)

The pattern went together quite easily, though their directions for the skirt were ... unclear and their directions for the zipper plain didn't work (and I was using an invisible zipper anyway, so I didn't NEED a flap of fabric to hide it). I added some topstitching in places they didn't call for it (because really - once you start topstitiching most of the seams, doesn't is make sense to just do them ALL?) but otherwise didn't change it much if at all.
