Rather than posting anything of substanc,e here are some of my latest Photoshop (ok, actually Gimp) projects...

Treated with the Orton technique, then I popped the bloom & stem out to a new layer and blurred the rest even more...

Actually processed entirely in iPhoto, but who's keeping score? She was out of focus anyway, so I softened the whole thing, then used "edge blur" to cammo the fact that the branches in front of her were actually the focal point of the picture.

Desaturated the foreground, boosted the color of the sky.

Another Orton - my first attempt, actually. I also did a very soft b&w version but I like this one better.
