Turkey Day Retrospective...

Everybody else is posting all about what they've done for Thanksgiving; I'm starting to feel left out.   As always, we had dinner with the Diamondstones - at their house this year, with a zillion critters (three birds, five dogs, three cats).  TRex got on well with the birds, even the African Grey (which I was a bit nervous about, as Tostana tends to be quite mouthy and territorial about her human) and with most of the dogs.  She got a little enthusiastic with (or maybe stepped on the tail of) the biggest dog and got put in her place but nobody was hurt in the process.  Ceasar (the other parrot) and I made our peace - last time I saw her she took a chunk out of my hand - and I was allowed to give her lots of neck pets.  TRex worked the room like a master politician, as this video shows.

What's not included in the above is the fact that TRex woke up for the day at FOUR THIRTY IN THE MORNING.  It was not a pretty scene.  She crashed HARD in the car on the way home.  Oh, and that in the car Wednesday we heard that TMBG were playing the 9:30 club TONIGHT.  Not only that, it's a live performance of Flood.  AUGH!  If we had known, we would TOTALLY have gotten tickets.  *sigh*

We got whole-family pics taken today, hung out, and had dinner at Cubano's, which was worthy of about 20 noms.  TRex had the empanitos appetizer and a side of rice & beans and loved it all.  M and I split a chicken dish and a poached red snapper dish.  Oh, and I had a mojito.  That's another 20 noms right there.

Tomorrow, I don't know what we're doing.  We were gonna hang out with samueljl , relentlesstoil , and MCC but they are illin'.  TRex was pretty disappointed but got over it when we told her she could still decorate the birthday cake that she and Grandma baked for MCC this morning and I promised her we would try to video chat with MCC tomorrow sometime (hear that, MCCs grownups?).  Then we heard about chargirlgenius  & her crew going to the zoo, but I don't know if we're up for that either (I will let you know when I know, Char), because J&J are going home tomorrow after TRex goes to bed and the zoo is in the opposite direction of them going home plus a lo of us have a lot of work to do.

Also, I have had lots of cheesecake with chocolate. Yum.
