Ooooh, Miss USA! She's from Tennessee (oy, is she ever from Tennessee!)! She's cute! And southern! And going to wear the winner's dress at Miss Universe!
I of course immediately thought that Kayne had a massive advantage. I appreciated that he didn't start crowing - he was very reserved and actually seemed a bit ... cowed? overwhelmed? by the challenge.

- Jeffrey & Alison: Blah. Yeah, Jeffrey designs for rockstars. And this looks like it was designed for a rockstar. Which Miss USA is not.
- Kayne and Robert: I was thrilled when Kayne chose Robert to work with him. I just thought on an instinctive level that they would make a good team. The product was beautiful. I didn't love the fit on the model, and I wasn't big on the poufs. But that's a matter of taste. The jeweled bits were gorgeous. And Kayne is such an OklahomaFag. I love him.
- Keith & Bradley: Guess what. Keith may be a menswear designer, but the man can make a dress. The bodice wasn't fantastic, but the flow was gorgeous. Loved it.
- Laura and Michael: This dress was class personified. Definitely my favorite of all of them. Definitely more runway than pageant. I think it wasn't ... dramatic enough for a pageant. But it was stunning.
- Malan and Katherine: LOOK, IT'S A GIANT TURD! Enough said. Tim says in the podcast that it looks like fudge. No, Tim, it doesn't, unless you're using fudge in a pejorative way. And sadly we won't get to know if the accent is fake. *sigh*
- Uli and Bonnie: Also beautiful, in many of the same ways that Keith and Bradley's dress was beautiful. Love the twisting details on the halter and the belt.
- Vincent and Angela: Vincent and Angela. Oy. M and i were split on this whole thing. I thought the conflict was largely V's fault. M thought it was largely A's fault. I don't know. Tim's take on it on the podcast is really interesting - I recommend listening to it. I actually didn't hate the dress (though it had a lot of construction problems). The epaulets were a bit much, but I liked the simple lines, I liked the color, I liked the jeweled broach at the cleavage. But MAN is Vincent a total nutter! COMPLETELY FREAKING INSANE!
