Plumber Update

Score ... 3? 4? Something like that. Anyway, score again for the previous homeowners dumbass home improvement decisions. When they finished off what is now the laundry room, they plugged up one of the floor drains. Except that it wasn't done well, and the sewer had backed up around it. Hooray! More sewer in our basement! Sewer in our NEW CARPET! HOORAY!!! In the room that's going to be TRex's playroom! HOORAY! Our friendly plumbers (who I call "The Joe and Steve Show" because they are a HILARIOUS father-and-son team) came over, found the problem in relatively short order, and plugged up the drain in a much more permanent manner.
I guess this answers the question of will we be going to a birthday party Saturday afternoon... we'll be shampooing the carpet in that area instead. (And while we've got a carpet shampooer rented, I'll probably do some other areas, too.) And this winter we'll be having adventures in drywall (to replace the stuff that got wet/nasty) and painting (because while we're at it, we'll go ahead and paint the room). Go, us. Should we let TRex pic out the colors? ;^)
Also, a prize to anybody who can figure out where we actually DO have a functioning floor drain.
Incidentally, one reason I like our plumbers is because Joe takes the time to explain to you exactly what's going on, how the plumbing works, etc. I like that in a plumber.
