Because I'm feeling stuck as I work on my survey...

I just ordered an iTrip for the new iPod - in the hopes of being allowed to listen to something other than Shirim Al Galgalim in the car.  There's only so much Hebrew school music a person over the age of 5 can take, and I'd much rather have some Wiggles and Laurie Berkner thrown in there rather than listening to the same 12 songs over and over and over again.  If it means a tiny fraction of my iPod is taken up with kids' music, so be it.  I'm not using anywhere near the whole thing anyway.

My new parka is out for delivery.  Yay!  Just in time for the very cold (highs in the single digits) snap they're predicting for this weekend.  I've been wearing M's new "infantry Coat" that we got on superclearance at Old Navy a while back ($10 - originally $40) and it's not warm enough for me and I generally don't like it.  But it's that or my overcoat, which is even less warm and v-necked (brrr...).

Speaking of fashion, this morning I had on a shirt that I've had in the "doesn't fit" category in my mind for ages - because when I got it, I weighed 20 pounds more than I do now.  Tried it on last night and, viola, it fits.  Except then I got some stuff on it and had to change into something else.  I grabbed a tunic-length egpplant-colored light sweater.  It's a good color and lovely material (silk) but shapeless and, well, tunic-length.  Not the most flattering thing ever.  Meh.  The jeans look good, though, and I have on my favorite boots.

The "stuff" that i got on my shirt was caulk - we stayed home for a bit this morning to do a bit more winterizing on the house.  We figure the last thing we need is a 2-year-old high on Seal-n-Peel fumes.  (Though it would be amusing.)  We should be pretty snug now.  We saw a DRAMATIC reduction in our gas bill after the last round of leak-plugging.

Went to the bank today to do something useful with the money that was in our accounts in MA.  Glad to have gotten that over with.  We'd really like to switch to switch banks (to the local one where we opened the accounts today), but as long as Big Corporate Bank owns our mortgage, we have to have an account there so they can grab the payments out of it.  So everyone root for them to sell our mortgage soon!

We're actually getting out of the house sans kiddo this weekend - hooray!  James (Irene's son) is going to sit for Shoshanna Saturday night.  I figure there will be lots of lego-playing going on at our house while we actually get out and socialize.  :^)  I haven't decided yet what I'm going to wear (it's a party we're going to), but I'm leaning towards my obnoxiously red corduroy skirt with the inverted pleats, my knee-high boots, and ... something on top.  Don't know about the on top yet.

That's all I got.  I'm off to the gym.  Such an exciting life I lead.
