1.98 miles, 21:26.  I was dead at the end - I need to learn pace better.  I've got myself an 8-week 5k training program ... wonder if there are any races at the end of May or early June?  (Answer:  Yes, lots.)

Alternatively, or maybe in addition...  my gym does occasional "mini triathlons" - 20 lengths of the pool, a mile and a half run (either on the treadmill/elliptical or on the road if the weather permits) and a 3-mile bike on the stationaries/spinning bikes.  They're doing one again in June according to the newsletter that came today.  The only challenging part of THAT would be the swim.  *ponders*

And the community part... community is waving to a friend driving past you in their car as you run down their street on a Monday morning.  The funny part is that she was probably on her way to the gym.  ;^)

Man my scope is so out of whack since I was in the Army. Ok when I was young stupid and impervious to pain 2 miles under 16 was the normal. Now I doubt I could walk 2 miles in under a hour. But thinking about it While I was in the Army I was in seriuos training all the time. We ran a minimum of 2 miles 3 days a week and did one 12 mile Forced march once a week. The Airfield next to the Billet was 4.87 miles around and we ran it for lunch training on our off days. On top of all of the SCA combat I was doing at the time. No wonder I was a walking attitude I did not do anything but pump up.

Keep pluggin away at it if the pace you set left you tired but not exhuasted you might just be a natural runner. Problem I faced was keeping the potasium in balance so i would not cramp. But your body will tell you if your pushing to hard. Shin splints usually the first sign.

OOK!
