So I was getting really concerned that some of the very few things that had gotten lost in the move were a handful of copies that are REALLY SUPER-DUPER IMPORTANT for my dissertation. I knew I hadn't seen them, I knew that they were ones that I had out/accessible and that were carried from MA to NY in my backpack, but I just didn't know where they had ended up.

I just found them. Why articles about the theory of public and private were in the folder for articles about reality TV, I don't know. But I'm not complaining, because now I don't have to try to chase them down again.

Clearly this is a sign that I should have fleshed out my section on reality TV sooner.

Or else it's a sign that you shouldn't have a section on reality TV in the first place, on the theory that studying it only encourages it to continue to exist by making it seem like a valid phenomenon, whereas the only proper thing to do to reality TV is ignore it and lobotomise the people who produce it :-D

yeah, but I can't exactly talk about changes in contemporary conceptions of public and private without addressing reality tv.

But if you don't study reality TV, you'll miss such choice bits of Grand Guignol as the "GAWD WARRIOR!!!!!" having a meltdown during "Trading Spouses" a couple of weeks ago.
