Let's see...
Last week I finally Googled to find out which guy Carrie ended up with on Sex & the City (yeah, somehow I didn't know). Then the next time I watched it, I finally saw the finale. Our UPN station (which shows it at 11:30 at night...which sucks because I'm constitutionally incapable of turning off the tv in the middle of a S&C episode) doesn't re-run the episodes in any sort of logical order so I'd seen a random sprinkling of eps from the last season, but not the finale.

Taylor's on Today right now... the stupid first single is growing on me. And T is cute.

Buffalo has the advantage of not being near a mountain range. See, in Massachusetts there were never any really good thunderstorms. The Berkshires got in the way - storms didn't have enough clear land to get up a good head of steam. Last night, though, we had a doozy. (Yet more evidence for the argument that Buffalo is in the Midwest.) It was like 3 am and crashboombangflash! Shockingly, and thankfully, it woke up both M and me, but not TRex. The thunder was different than any I had ever heard before, too... very sharp, not rolling.

There was something else I was going to post about, but I don't remember what it was.

M and I once again rearranged all the consumer electronics this weekend. Now they're on the bar. See, we had the new TV on top of the old entertainment center, which wasn't terribly stable. And TRex has started trying to climb it (like she does EVERYTHING), which just had all sorts of potential for badness. So we moved everything to the un-tippable (and un-climbable) bar. We're using the old entertainment center as an oversized side table/speaker stand/shelf for CDs and DVDs. But we can only put stuff on the top shelf or the very top of the EC because everything else is in grabbing-range.

National Spelling Bee on tv tonight! In hi-def! I foresee flipping between that and the Sabres/Hurricanes game.

Fencing practice last night. Whoo. I didn't totally stink up the joint. We've agreed to fight with the Aethelmearc Rapier Army at Pennsic since Ae is fighting with the East this year. In 2 weeks are Baronial Championships... I don't think either of us will be competing to be Baronial Rapier Champ, but I'm going to enter my new armor in the A&S champs. I just have to whip up the documentation, but I should be able to crib that from various old docs and then write some new stuff for the braies. No problem.

Have I mentioned that I'm old? I have what I believe to be arthritis in my left freaking index finger (my paternal grandmother and my dad's sister both got arthritis pretty young). And today the 2 Advil I took with breakfast aren't really doing much beyond taking the edge off.

I'm so with you on the disappointing lack of thunderstorms here. There were two thunder rumbles last night; by now I've finally stopped expecting a decent storm, so wasn't (too) disappointed when nothing happened. The weather channel keeps saying that there might be thunderstorms. They never mean it. They seem to mean something like "at least today, unlike most other days, we wouldn't believe the world was coming to an end if there happened to be a thunderstorm." Lucky you guys!

Yeah, that was quite a storm, wasn't it? Last night when we went out to hit the grocery store, the air was a strange kind of heavy and wet. It looked and felt like being in the Olympic Rain Forest... very cool! The kitty wasn't so happy about the thunder, tho'.

The best thunderstorms out here also get stuck in the mountains (and funnelled down the valley that our cabin sits in). I've been caught in a few and woken up by some others that were pretty loud, with that kind of cracking thunder. The summer that our neighbor's generator was struck (15 m. away from us) was probably the most exciting.

I love thunderstorms too.
