TWENTY MINUTES

It took me TWENTY MINUTES to drive the 1.8 miles between our house and TRex's daycare today. TWENTY MINUTES. You'd think that people in Buffalo would be capable of driving like not-morons when there's less than 6" of snow on the ground. (OK, in the traffic's defense, there was an accident on the overpass just past daycare, which was probably part of what was slowing things down. That doesn't explain the backup going the other way, though.) Poor Miss Ira (or, as TRex puts is, "Sira"), Miss Nena wasn't there yet (she takes the same route that I do and usually arrives just after me) and she was going a little bit crazy.
So I came home and cleared the driveway. It's that nebulous amount of snow where I feel quite a bit of environmental guilt running the blower, but it would have taken a long time and a lot of pain to clear it by hand, so I used the blower. And then I made myself a nice cup of Earl Gray. Hooray. And now I'm going to print the latest version of my prospectus and start thinking about making it into a half-hour presentation. Whoohoo.
