For those of us who love to shop... pick your favorite online retailer(s) and put together a work wardrobe for yourself.  How much would it cost?

I "spent" $5531.68 at Bluefly.

Imagine what I could do with another $145k!

As Mom is my primary profession.

For Mom clothes I spent, $230 at JcPenny's... and that was expensive jeans (levis, that I usually won't buy 'cause they cost to much) and expensive sneakers. Both luxury items for me :)

Oh the clothes I could get with 150K (Ding light bulb moment... that could pay most off of my house)

Scary, no?

I think I'd end up spending around $7-8,000 grand on everything at The Talbots, with extra for evening clothes. Gov. Palin also needs to have her duds dry cleaned, plus extra underwear, shoes, hose, and hairspray to keep her bouffant nice and perky.

Still. $150,000 is more than I think I've spent on clothes in my entire life.

I figure I'd get, oh, say twelve suits (four year-round, two per season) and four sportcoats (one per season), which would keep Tom Mahon busy for a while, and twenty custom shirts (white, spread collar, french cuffs). That brings me up to a hair over $50k, and the rest can be 20% down on a nice house. (Maybe blow another couple thousand on hats, ties and cufflinks, though.)

Well, I got to just under $1k at Christopher & Banks (where I buy a lot of my customer visit/travel work clothes anyway, they have several sets of colors which they keep in stock in new styles and which suit me very well) and then ~$2,600 at Talbots before they cut my shopping bag off.

Seriously. How do you spend $150K in clothes for one person for one season, even if you're buying fancy things for evening meetings? Is she wearing each thing once? (I mean, I understand that the dry-cleaning may not catch up, but sheesh!)
