One of the senior faculty in my department came out into the main office late this afternoon crowing, "CNN has called Virginia for Obama!  They say he has enough electoral votes to win!"

I realized pretty quickly that he was talking about this.  I did not point out that CNN can't "call" a damn thing until the evening of the 4th at the earliest, and I am concerned that VA is one of those states where Obama may poll well until the moment when people are faced with the reality of pulling the lever for a Black guy whose name rhymes with Osama.
